Transgender (trans) 
Somebody whose gender identity doesn't match their assigned gender at birth.


Non-binary (n-b/enby)
An umbrella term for someone whose gender doesn't fit 100% into the categories "man" or "woman".


LGBTQIA+ 
An acronym which stands for lesbian, gay, bi, trans, queer, intersex, asexual, and more. 

Different variations of this acronym have been accepted by our community, but it's important to keep the L at the front to acknowledge everything lesbians did for the community during the AIDS crisis.


Genderqueer (GQ)
A gender under the non-binary umbrella that sits outside the gender binary.


Spacegender
A type of xenogender, it is an umbrella term for genders that are influenced or related to different parts of space, or space itself. Click here for more info.


Queer 
An umbrella term for LGBTQIA+ people.


Gay
An umbrella term for LGBTQIA+ people (formerly a slur).


Allosexual (allo)
Someone who experiences sexual attraction, the opposite of asexual (more info here).


Mspec (attracted to multiple genders)
Attraction to multiple genders, "multiple-spectrum" (more info here, hyperlink attached to flag).


Aromantic (aro)
Someone who doesn't experience romantic attraction (more info here).


Disabled
Physical, mental, and/or neurological impairment, typically long-term or permanent. (NOT "HANDY CAPABLE" OR "DIFFERENTLY ABLED" OR ANY SIMILAR VARIATIONS AS THEY ARE DEEMED ABLEIST) 


Autistic
A condition that affects how a person thinks, feels, interacts with others, and experiences their environment (source).

Identity-first language preferred. Example: "I am autistic" rather than "I have autism".

Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD)
A mental disorder known for emotion regulation issues, an overwhelming fear of real or imagined abandonment/rejection, and feelings of chronic emptiness, loneliness, and worthlessness.
